Minor
The requirements for the Computer Science Minor are: CS 0401, CS 0445, CS 1501, and any two of the following three courses: CS 0447, CS 0449, and CS 0441. The total number of credits required are 16. CS 0401 requires programming experience as a prerequisite. A student without any programming background would be advised to take the 3 credit course CS 0007 as preparation for CS 0401. The CS Minor is essentially 5 of the 6 courses that are considered the "core" of the CS Major. This is a rigorous minor. This minor is not intended for casual students interested in computer literacy.

Related Area
For those students wishing to obtain a related area in computer science, the Department recommends the following set of courses: CS 0401, CS 0441, CS 0445, and CS 0447.

Less Rigorous Related Area
A less rigorous related area might be completed with the following set: CS 0110, CS 0007, CS 0131, CS 0132, and CS 0134.

Computer Literacy
For those students wishing only to gain a level of computer literacy, the department recommends the courses CS 0110, CS 0004 or CS 0007, CS 0131, and CS 0134.
